| The purpose of a master plan is to provide the County of Kern with a “roadmap” for the long-term development of an airport. The master plan must provide for airport development that is safe, meets long-term aviation needs, is demonstrated to be financially sound, is compatible with community development plans, enhances recreational opportunities in the area, and meets environmental standards. The master plan will ensure that the airport remains an important asset to the County and responds to economic growth of the area. |
